Rainwater Drainage

RAINWATER DISPOSAL

 Design, investigation and analysis

Incorrectly considered rainwater drainage and overflow / exceedance systems can lead to costly water ingress or even structural failure of a roof.

Rainwater disposal design often falls between disciplines and hence there can be the temptation to rely upon support from manufacturers - giving rise to potential gaps in liability and insurances.

Watershed have the expertise and experience to support design teams in integrating the appropriate level of protection into the building design whilst being innovative in approach where required to satisfy architectural demands.

For existing buildings a change in use, increases in rainfall intensities and maintenance can significantly impact performance and increase risk,  We offer a range of existing system evaluations from simple capacity checks through to full design audits.

Did you know?

Rainfall volumes and intensities vary enormously depending on location across the UK.

For this reason generic rainfall data must not be used for design purposes.

Also, as illustrated here, larger gutters are often required in regions with lower average rainfall as these tend to experience shorter more intense storms.
